President Donald Trump has offered a 1 million dollar reward to individuals who report cases of voter fraud in the United States that lead to a conviction. The announcement comes ahead of the midterm elections scheduled for 3 November, according to BBC News. [1]

BBC News reported that Donald Trump has repeatedly cast doubt on the security of the vote by alleging widespread cheating in postal voting and non-citizens voting. However, studies show that actual cases of voter fraud are extremely rare. Donald Trump has previously made unsubstantiated claims about mail-in voting while also encouraging Republicans to use postal ballots. [1]

The administration previously addressed election issues through the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, which ran from May 2017 to January 2018. Donald Trump established the commission after claiming that illegal voting cost him the popular vote in the 2016 presidential election. Former Vice President Mike Pence chaired the commission, while former Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach served as its vice chair. [2]
