The Justice Department has brought criminal charges against former FBI Director James Comey for the third time, NPR Politics, Courthouse News Service, and The Hill all report. BBC News US reported that lawyers for Comey said the case stems from an alleged disclosure of classified information to The New York Times in 2016. Courthouse News Service reported that the case was filed in Washington, DC. The outlet added that the filing marks the third federal case brought against Comey during President Donald Trump's return to the White House. [2][7]

Separately, a judge ruled that the Justice Department unlawfully fired Comey's daughter, Maurene Comey, from her position as a federal prosecutor, according to reports from The Washington Post, NBC News, WTOP News, and the BBC. NBC News reported that the judge ordered the department to reinstate her. [3][5][6][9]
