The White House has asked Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign from her post as United States ambassador to Greece following allegations of misconduct, according to NPR and the Washington Examiner. Guilfoyle announced her resignation on Tuesday morning after the administration made the request, the Washington Examiner reported. [1][2][3][11]

NPR reported that the resignation request followed allegations that Guilfoyle sought payment from a Donald Trump donor in exchange for access to administration officials. The Washington Examiner noted that Guilfoyle faces influence peddling and misconduct allegations. Courthouse News Service reported that The Wall Street Journal published a series of stories beginning late last month detailing questionable conduct by the former diplomat. [1][2][7]

Guilfoyle called the allegations of improper conduct false and described serving as ambassador as the honour of a lifetime, according to BBC News. In a statement reported by the Washington Examiner, she stated that her commitment to President Trump, the America First movement, and the country will never end. [2][6]

President Trump stated that Guilfoyle dated his son and that officials did not like what they were reading, according to The Independent. Guilfoyle served as the United States ambassador to Greece from 2025 until her resignation in 2026, and she previously led the fundraising division of Donald Trump's 2020 presidential campaign.
