Amy Acton refuses post election dialogue with Vivek Ramaswamy following ad
Ohio Governor-elect Amy Acton said she has no intention of speaking to defeated opponent Vivek Ramaswamy after his campaign ran an attack ad featuring her mother.

Ohio Governor-elect Amy Acton stated on Friday that she has no intention of speaking with her former Republican opponent, Vivek Ramaswamy, following their gubernatorial election. Acton let Ramaswamy's concession call go to voicemail after the election, according to reports from The Hill, CBS News, and The Independent. [1][2][3][4][5]
The decision follows a campaign attack advertisement debuted by Ramaswamy in the final weeks of the race that featured Acton's estranged mother. The Hill reported that Acton called the advertisement beyond the pale, while CBS News reported she described it as terrible and despicable. Acton's mother lost custody of her daughter when Acton was 12 years old, as reported by The Hill. [1][2]
As FTMQ Politics reported earlier, the Ramaswamy campaign spent millions of dollars to run the television advertisement, in which Acton's estranged mother accused her of lying. Acton stated that her mother is not well. Republican and Democratic party members criticized the advertisement, and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine along with former Governor John Kasich urged Ramaswamy to pull it. President Donald Trump had previously urged Ramaswamy to keep airing the advertisement before the campaign pulled it off the air. [7][8]
