United States President Donald Trump endorsed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday ahead of the upcoming Israeli national elections. ABC News and The Hill both reported that Donald Trump posted his endorsement on social media, praising Benjamin Netanyahu as a late campaign boost. [1][4]

According to ABC News and The Hill, Donald Trump called Benjamin Netanyahu a great warrior prime minister and an even greater partner for peace in combatting the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Hill added that Donald Trump addressed his Truth Social post to the people of Israel and referred to the prime minister as Bibi. [1][4]

ABC News reported that Israelis will vote on October 27 in the first national elections since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. ABC News noted that Donald Trump had withheld an endorsement for months as the vote neared and the leaders' strategies in the Middle East diverged. [1]

Benjamin Netanyahu has served as prime minister of Israel since 2022, having previously held the office from 1996 to 1999 and from 2009 to 2021. He is the longest-serving prime minister in the history of Israel. [12]
