Roll Call reported that the proposals serve as an early signal of Democratic priorities if the party regains control of the Senate. [1]

reached under the first proposal, titled the Stability and Opportunity for Workers Act, would establish an income support program lasting up to two years for individuals retraining for new employment. Roll Call reported that the bill would also expand unemployment insurance, create a pilot program for tuition assistance, and update the federal Extended Benefits program. [1]
