Trump offers White House press secretary role to UFC boss Dana White

US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he has offered the position of White House press secretary to Ultimate Fighting Championship chief executive Dana White. BBC News, The Hill, The Guardian, and the Financial Times all reported on the offer, which Trump posted on Truth Social. According to BBC News, Trump wrote that White would be a press secretary like none other and urged him to take the job. [1][2][8][10]

The Hill reported that Trump requested White bring assistants with him, including several named UFC fighters. It remains unclear whether the public offer is genuine. BBC News reported that it reached out to the White House, the UFC, and parent company TKO Group Holdings for comment. [1][2]

The position of White House press secretary has been open since mid October. BBC News reported that former press secretary Katie Zacharia departed the role after serving just a few days on the job. [1]

The offer comes following the US midterm elections, in which Republicans lost their majorities in Congress, according to BBC News. Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., the White House serves as the official residence and workplace of the president. [1][11]
