The United States is offering a reward of up to 20 million dollars for information regarding the Iranian nuclear program. BBC News US, Middle East Eye, the Egyptian Gazette, New Age BD, PM News Nigeria, and thecradle.co all reported on the financial offer. BBC News US cited a United States State Department statement regarding the reward, while Middle East Eye and thecradle.co reported that United States Central Command issued the offer. [1][2][3][4][5][6]

BBC News US reported that the reward targets information on Iranian facilities, equipment, and associated personnel. The State Department stated that Iran has failed to comply with safeguards obligations established by the International Atomic Energy Agency. This non-compliance caused the agency to lose continuity of knowledge about the production and inventory of Iranian nuclear components, including centrifuges. [1]

Centrifuges refine uranium into enriched fuel. BBC News US explained that enriched uranium can power civilian nuclear reactors or be used for nuclear weapons if refined to a purity level of 90 percent or higher. Donald Trump has repeatedly discussed the possibility of renewing military strikes against nuclear facilities in Iran. [1]

The country of Iran operates as a theocratic republic established in 1979. In early April 2026, the United States Department of Defense conducted a search and rescue operation to recover two crew members from an aircraft shot down over Iran. United States President Donald Trump previously offered financial rewards for domestic issues, including a one million dollar reward for voter fraud reports in October 2026, as FTMQ Politics reported earlier.
