The Supreme Federal Court of Brazil has ordered the arrest of former congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro, according to reports from Courthouse News Service and Anadolu Ajansı. Justice Alexandre de Moraes issued the warrant and ordered the immediate start of his prison sentence, as reported by Anadolu Ajansı. [1][8][9][13]

Courthouse News Service reported that Eduardo Bolsonaro faces four years and two months in prison. The charges stem from coercion connected to efforts to interfere with his father's coup trial. Eduardo Bolsonaro currently lives in the United States, Courthouse News Service reported. [1][9]

Eduardo Bolsonaro is a Brazilian politician, lawyer, and former federal police officer who served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies. He is the third son of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro. He took leave from his parliamentary position in 2025 to reside in the United States while attempting to coordinate commercial sanctions against Brazil regarding his father's legal proceedings. The Supreme Federal Court acts as Brazil's constitutional court and serves as the highest court of law for constitutional issues in the country. Its decisions cannot be appealed. [13]
